All quilters need to have a few blocks in
their repertoire that are all-purpose blocks. The Snowball Block is one of
these. It makes a wonderful quilt used alone, but it's even more useful to
combine with other blocks, particularly those based on a 9 patch or "divided in
thirds" type block structure so that it will line up with the divisions in the
other blocks.
This article will show you the quick way to
make snowball blocks and then you will see a wide range of sample quilt tops
using just snowballs as well as combined with other blocks for very different
looks.
