Snowball Blocks in Quilts

All quilters need to have a few blocks in their repertoire that are all-purpose blocks. The Snowball Block is one of these. It makes a wonderful quilt used alone, but it's even more useful to combine with other blocks, particularly those based on a 9 patch or "divided in thirds" type block structure so that it will line up with the divisions in the other blocks.

This article will show you the quick way to make snowball blocks and then you will see a wide range of sample quilt tops using just snowballs as well as combined with other blocks for very different looks.
