Description:  Thin, distinct, parallel lines of Allegro Lace, against a background of dynamic, slow-striping Mini Mochi, are the focus of this easy, eye-catching scarf.  The Mini Mochi stripes increase in size while the Allegro stripes remain the same.  It is all knitted in garter stitch, with non-working color wrapped at the side.

Level: Easy (garter stitch)

Size:  58" x 6.5"

Materials: 

Gauge:  6 sts=1" over garter stitch

Abbreviations:  BO- bind off; CO- cast on; k- knit; p- purl; RS- right side (outside of piece); sl- slip; St st- stockinette stitch; st(s)-stitches; WS- wrong side

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Note 1: Do not break yarn when changing colors. Before starting each RS row, carry the color not in use up the edge by wrapping it once around the color that is in use. This will produce a tidy right-hand edge.

 

With Allegro Lace, CO 40 sts.

 

With Allegro Lace, knit 2 rows.

With Mini Mochi, knit 2 rows.

Repeat these 4 rows a total of 18 times.

 

Then with Allegro Lace, knit 2 rows.

With Mini Mochi, knit 4 rows.

Repeat these 6 rows a total of 18 times.

 

Then with Allegro Lace, knit 2 rows.

With Mini Mochi, knit 8 rows.

Repeat these 10 rows a total of 18 times.

 

Then with Allegro Lace, knit 2 rows.

With Mini Mochi, knit 16 rows.

Repeat these 18 rows a total of 18 times.

 

Then with Allegro Lace, knit 2 more rows.  BO loosely. 

 

Weave in ends with tapestry needle. Dampen piece and block to measurements.
