Crystal Palace Yarns - FREE PATTERN - Crochet

Gold Rush

Chain Necklace

Description:  This super easy necklace/cowl project is quick and fun, and it makes a very fashionable accessory.  It is made up of a very long, simple crocheted chain and takes less than a ball to make!

Level:  Beginner

Size:  Adult - 20' (30" circumference when folded 4 times)

  • 1 ball of Crystal Palace Gold Rush (shown in 1010 "Mermaid")
  • US M13 or N15 crochet hook

Gauge:  Not important

This necklace is made using two strands of Gold Rush held together.  Using one end each from outside and inside the ball, make a slip knot around your hook.  Chain until piece measures 20' (240"), or desired length.

To calculate desired length, determine desired circumference and multiply by 8.  This will give you the total length in inches.  Divide then by 12 to get total feet.

Tie together and trim ends.  Fold in half 3 times, so you have 8 rings.  Sew or crochet the loops together back and forth a few times at the back of the neck to secure them in place.
