Materials:
Yarn: 1 - 50g ball of Crystal Palace Sausalito (Shown in #8308 Monet)
Needles: Crystal Palace Bamboo 16" circular and 8" dpn's, US size 2 (or size needed for gauge)
Stitch marker (to mark beg of rnd)
Yarn needle

Gauge: 34 st=4" over rib pattern, unstretched (28 sts=4" over St st)

Abbreviations: beg- beginning; CO- cast on; dec- decrease; dpn- double-pointed needle; k- knit; k2tog- knit two stitches together; p- purl; rep- repeat; rnd- round; sl- slip as if to purl, unless otherwise noted; st(s)- stitches; St st- stockinette stitch; x- times

Instructions:
With circular needles, CO 144 sts. Place marker for beg of rnd. Join and begin working the following rib:

Rnd 1: *p1, k1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rnd 2: *p1, sl 1; rep from * to end of rnd.

Work rib until piece measures 6", ending with a Rnd 2.

(Note: For a longer cap with cuff, work rib until piece measures 10". You will need 2 - 50 g balls for this length.)

Rnd 2: *(p1, sl 1) 8x, sl 1; rep from * to end of rnd.

Cut yarn with 8" tail. With yarn needle, draw yarn through rem sts and secure on the underside of hat. Weave in ends.
