Crystal Palace Bamboo Circular Needle & DPN size US 6
Large eyed tapestry needle or crochet hook
Gauge:
5.5 sts per inch (27 sts/10 cm) over St st
Size:
woman's small/medium
Abbreviations: CO- cast
on; dpn- double pointed needles; K- Knit; K2tog - knit 2 sts together; P- Purl;
rep - repeat; St st - stockinette stitch; YO - yarn over; PSSO - pass slip st
over; rnd(s) - round(s); st(s)- stitch(es); tog - together.
Instructions:
With the circular needle, CO 120 sts.
Join, being careful not to twist. Place marker.
K 1.25 inches in K2,P2 rib.
Begin Lacey Lattice Pattern
A:
Rnd 1: *[K3 (K2tog, YO)x3, K3], repeat around.
Rnds 2 & 4: Knit
Rnd 3: *[K4 (K2tog, YO)x2, K4]
Repeat these 4 rnds for 2.5 in
Begin Lacey Lattice Pattern
B:
Rnd 1: *[K2tog (K2tog, yo)4x K2tog], repeat around. [100 sts]
Rnds 2 & 4: Knit
Rnd 3: *[K3 (K2tog, YO)x3, K3], repeat around. Continue with Lacey Lattice
Pattern B until hat is ~6 in, or desired length, from CO edge.
End pattern with Rnd 4; P1 rnd.
Crown Decreases:
Dec rnd 1: *[K2tog *(K2tog, YO)x3, K2tog], repeat around. Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 2: *(K2tog, K8), repeat around.
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 3: *(K2tog, K7), repeat around.
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 4: *(K2tog, K6), repeat around.
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 5: *(K2tog, K5), repeat around.
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 6: *(K2tog, K4), repeat around.
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 7: *(K2tog, K3), repeat around.
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 8: *(K2tog, K2), repeat around,
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 9: *(K2tog, K1), repeat around.
Knit 1 rnd.
Dec rnd 10: *(K2tog), repeat around until 4 sts remain.
Cut the yarn, leaving an ~8 in end.
With a crochet hook, pull the yarn through the sts one at a time, dropping each
off the needle.
Pull tightly to close; tuck end inside.
Finishing: Work in all
ends.
Try a crochet hook for this - no need to thread needle & it is fast.
