Your Granny Squares never looked so good with so little effort! The color changes are built into the yarn!

Materials:
Yarn: Crystal Palace Mini-Mochi, 8 - 50 gr. balls:
model shown used 4 different colors: 3 balls #104 fern rainbow, 2 balls #101 "intense rainbow", 2 balls #102 "flame rainbow" & 1 ball #106 "strawberry-lime" (or make the shawl in all one color, it'll still have lots of variation in colors)

Crochet Hook size F

Dimensions: 48" along outside edge, 18" at front edges. Motif 4" square

Flower Garden Motif (make 19 in #104 "fern rainbow" for garden border, 45 in other 3 flower shaded colors)

Ch 6, join with sl st to form a ring. Ch 3 (counts as a dc), 15 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of beg ch 3 (16 dc).

Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 7, skip 3 dc, sc in next dc) three times, ch 7, join with sl st to beg sc.

Ch 1, in next ch-7 space make 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 3 trc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc (petal made),
ch 1, make petals in next 3 ch-7 loops in same manner. Join with sl st in beg ch 1.

Ch 6, skip 2 sc and 1 hdc, sc in next hdc, ch 3, skip next 2dc and trc, sc in center trc,
Ch 3, skip trc and 2 dc, sc in next hdc, ch 3, dc in ch-1 space between petals.
Continue in this manner around, ending join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 6.

Ch 3, 3 dc in each ch-3 space, dc in next sc, 3 dc in next ch-3 space, (dc, ch 2, dc) in sc at center of petal. Continue in this manner around. Join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.
Fasten off.

Join motifs as shown in diagram by placing right sides together and slip stitching thru back loops only of both motifs, using #104 "fern rainbow" along outside edge for border.

Finishing: Join #104 "fern rainbow" with sl st to corner space at top of left edge (see drawing). Ch 3, dc in same space. Dc in each dc around, working in back loops only, making (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corners. At center neck, dc to corner, skip corner spaces and dc in next dc (decrease made).
End 2 dc in last corner, join with hdc to top of beg ch 3.

Ch 3, dc in each dc around 4 sides only, working (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner spaces.

Ch 1, do not turn. Work 1 row reverse sc around, working 2 reverse sc n corner spaces.
