I thought it would be fun to knit a garland.
This knit up VERY fast! It took about 1 hour.
Not only could this idea be fun for the holidays, but make a rainbow colored
garland for a friend's birthday party in his or her favorite colors - or a
white and metallic fibers one for a wedding?
Or, wrap this garland around a circular form of
cardboard or foam and ... voila! A Wreath.
This is NOT I-cord (I saw someone on a
discussion board say that "9 ft of I-cord would take forever" - this is a
long, lengthwise knit strip - FAST to do.
The garland shown is 9 feet long and uses:
1 ball Tingle - #3200
chard green
1/2 ball each - Fling in #3538 lacquer
red and #9490 circus.
[Note: Fling #9490 is a new color for Spring '04 and is due to arrive in
November-December '04 - you can also use
Squiggle #9297 circus.]
I plan to use one more ball of Tingle and the rest of the Fling for a second
garland.
It is knit with Crystal Palace Bamboo 26" circular needles
size 19
Cast on 100 sts holding the 3 yarns together
Knit 2 rows (all knit = garter st)
Cast off loosely
[Note: This garland would also look good knit with
Splash #3387 Chard green instead of
Tingle.]
