Squiggles Beasties & a Pattern to make your own.
We have received email
asking us the source of the squiggle pieces used to make our popular
Squiggle Yarn (see
color card here).
We thought it was time to show a couple of
these cute little beasties in photos.
We are fortunate that we have a sheltered
backyard where the squiggles like to multiply and hang out in the shrubs
and trees. Sometimes they play with our dog.
One has to be careful napping on the porch
in a lawn chair though, these little critters will come and perch on you
(see the bottom photo).
Squiggles are shorn for their unusual fibers
twice a year. We guarantee that no squiggles are ever hurt by the shearing
process! We use only experienced shearers with lightweight electric
shears.
Would you like to KNIT your own Squiggle?
We have a pattern
here for you to use - one
ball of Iceland (soft wool) and small amounts of Squiggle yarn plus a
pair of size 15 CPY Bamboo Needles and you can have 2 or 3 squiggles of
your own in just a couple hours. (You also need to have access to a
washing machine to felt the little dears and some polyester fiber fill to
stuff them!)
