free scarf knitting pattern
knit with TAOS Wool
Materials: 2 or 3 - 50 gr balls
(2 for narrower scarf, photo shows 3 balls used)

and right scarf knit with color #08
Scarves will be approx. 40 inches
Taos is a new 100% striated color-it
has arrived for shipping in mid-July
Materials: 3 (2) 50-gr balls of TAOS for scarf in photo or 2 balls for
slightly narrower scarf.
Needles: Crystal Palace Bamboo or
DAISY single point needles size 9
1 cable st holder
Scarf is worked in St st (stockinette st = knit one
side, purl reverse) with all over 3/3 cable pattern.
3-3 Cable Pattern Row A: (right leaning cable)
K4, *place 3 sts on cable st holder and hold at back of work, K3, K3 sts
off cable needle*, rep between *s to last st, end K1
The illustration at the left shows this type of right leaning cable.
3-3 Cable Pattern Row B: (left leaning cable)
K1, *place 3 sts on cable st holder and hold in front of work, K3, K3 sts off
cable needle*, rep between *s to last st, end K4
Instructions: (as shown in chart below)
Cast on 35 (23) sts
Work in St st (K odd rows, P even rows)
Row 5: K4, Work 3-3 Cable Pattern Row A across width of scarf, ending K1
Rows 6 & 8: Purl
Row 7: Knit
Row 9: K1, Work 3-3 Cable Pattern Row B across width of scarf, ending K4
Rows 10: Purl
Row 11: Knit
Row 12: Purl
Repeat the 8 rows (Row 5 to Row 12) until almost out of yarn. End with 4 rows of St st.
Bind off loosely.
