Bind off loosely using 2 stitch I-cord.
k2 sts, slip the 2 sts purlwise back to left needle.
(k1, K next 2 sts together, slip 2 sts back to left needle) end k2 together.

Finishing: Weave in all ends and lightly steam the edges. Do not block: The natural pucker of the lace pattern adds texture and character to the shawl. When the edges curl up - let them. Note: if you want a non-curled edge, work 3-4 rows of garter stitch as final rows.
