Repeat last 2 rows until there are 15 sts on needle. End by working Row 3.
Next row: K to last st, sl 1 wyif. This forms a garter ridge on the right

Cont in this manner, working a garter ridge on every 10th row (i.e. when

Change to circular needle when there are too many
sts for straight needles.

Row 2: P to marker, K to last st, sl 1 wyif.
Rep these 2 rows until 90 sts remain on needle, then work garter ridge as
established.
Cont in this manner until 12 sts remain on needle. Cont decreasing, but working
remaining wrong-side rows in K instead of P.
Last row: K2 tog. Do not fasten off. Turn, and working across bottom edge
of shawl, pick up and knit 19 sts along edge to first single garter ridge, then
PU and K 7 sts between each garter ridge, and 1 st in each garter ridge across
shawl to last single garter ridge; PU and K 19 sts to end.
Begin ruffle:
Row 1: *K3, P1* across row, ending K3. (This is a wrong-side row)
Row 2: *P3, K1B*, ending P3.
Row 3: Repeat row 1
Row 4: *P3, m1, K1, m1*, ending P3.
Row 5: *K3, P3*, ending K3

Row 8: *P3, m1, K5, m1,* ending P3.
Row 9 *K3, P7*, ending K3
Row 10: *P3, K7*, ending P3.
Rep rows 9 and 10 until ruffle measures 3.5" from picked up edge. End by working
a WS row.
Bind off loosely, k the K sts and P the P sts.
Fasten off.
