Knit Deco-Ribbon Bag #2 Square Bottom

Materials:  3 - 50 gr balls Deco-Ribbon (print color #9146, "woodgrain" are used for this bag).
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles: 16" circular size 9 and 9" single point size 8
Crystal Palace Bamboo Crochet Hook, size H/8

Gauge: 8 st/2 inches in seed stitch on size 9 needles

Make body of bag as follows: Using 16" circular needle and Deco-Ribbon, cast on 83 stitches. Join and work in seed stitch, K1, P1, until work measures 8 1/2" from beginning. (Note: Working K1, P1
continuously in the round on an odd number of stitches will give you seed stitch.) Cast off.

Make bottom of bag as follows: Using 16" circular needle and Deco-Ribbon, cast on 21 stitches. Work back and forth in seed stitch until piece measures 5" from beginning. Cast off.
Using a tapestry needle, sew bottom of bag to bottom edge of body of bag such that the seam allowance is on the outside of the bag to form a ridge (see photo at right).

Make drawstring handle as follows: Using 9" single point needles and Deco-Ribbon, cast on 120 St. Using crochet hook, cast off these 120 Sts. Using a tapestry needle, weave in yarn ends. Weave
handle through top of bag, then knot ends of drawstring together to form an attractive finish. If you prefer you can make an "I-cord" for the handle.

Tip: Make the Handle Cord first and then use up all remaining Deco-Ribbon for the bag.
