POOF
Big Collar Oversized Pullover
Easy to Knit
Size:
Oversize, one size fits all.
Finished Chest Measurement: 47"
Gauge:
Over stockinette (St st), 8 sts = 4" (2 sts/inch).
It is important to check your gauge by knitting a swatch of approx. 16-20 sts.
We have found some knitters get the 2 sts/in gauge with Poof on size 11 needles
and others on size 13.
Materials:
Size 11 US (8 mm) Crystal Palace Bamboo needles
or size needed to obtain gauge
16" size 11 Crystal Palace Bamboo circular needle or DPN size 11
Yarn:
10 - 50 gr. balls Crystal Palace Yarns POOF
(model shown in col. 204, natural white)
[If you wish to make an extra deep collar or to add length to the pullover,
purchase 1-2 extra balls of Poof.]
[Note: You may sew seams using Poof itself or use 10-11
yds of white sport or worsted weight nylon or acrylic yarn.]
Back
Cast on 48 sts. Work in St st, decreasing as follows:
Dec 1 st each side, when work measures 7 inches.
Continue in St st until piece measures 15.5". Place underarm marker.
Underarm Shaping: Bind off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Continue in St st
until piece measures 24.5". Bind off 34 sts across back.
Front
Work as for back, including all shaping, and, at the same time when piece
measures 2.5" Begin Neck Shaping: Work to center 10 sts, place center 10 sts on
holder, attach another ball of yarn. Complete row. Working both sides at once,
dec 1 st at each neck edge, every other row 2x. Continue in St st until piece
measures 24.5". Bind off 10 sts across each shoulder.
Sleeves
Cast on 28 sts. Work in St st. Sleeve Increases: Inc 1 st on each side every 13
rows 4x [36 sts]. Continue in St st until piece measures 19". Loosely bind off
36 sts.
Finishing
Seam shoulders. Sew in sleeves. Seam sleeves. Seam sides.
Rolled Neck Finishing
With 16" circular needle or dpn set and RS facing, pick up 5 sts from right neck
edge, 10 front neck sts, 5 sts from left neck edge, 14 back neck sts, place
marker, join. Work in the round, knit to desired depth, at least 4-5". Bind off
loosely.
