PARTY Scarf
Easy to knit with wrap stitchEasy & Fast to Knit Makes a 5 ft+ long scarf with one ball of Party ribbon yarn
A "jewelry" scarf
Materials:
1-50 gr. ball of PARTY #401 (Turkish carpet) nylon ribbon yarn
Size 13 needles CPY Bamboo Needles or CPY DAISY needles
[Note PARTY is a new lustrous ribbon yarn for Spring '05 and will arrive in Dec '04-Jan '05]The entire scarf is knit in garter st (all rows knit) with a few rows of wrapped st. The scarf is knit with shaped ends.
To knit scarf:
Cast on 3 sts
Row 1: K1, inc 1 in next st, K2 [4 sts]
Row 2: K1, inc 1 in next st, inc 1 again in next st, K1 [6 sts]
Row 3: K1, inc 1 in next st, K to last 2 sts, inc 1, K1 [8 sts]
Repeat Row 3 twice more to have 12 sts on your needle.
*Work Wrap St Row 1: (K1, wrap once around needle) repeat to end of row, ending K1.
Wrap St Row 2: K1, (slip off the wrapped loop using tip of right needle, K1), repeat to end of row, ending K1.
(Note: At end of this row, give a slight tug downward to pull the dropped wraps open a into vertical bars.)
Knit the next 6-8 Rows: Garter st (knit all rows)*Continue to repeat the sequence of rows between the *'s until you are almost out of yarn.
End the scarf by reversing the shaping of the beginning - that is, dec 1 st just inside the edge K1 on both sides to form a pointed end. Bind off the last 3 sts.
