Size 11 and 10 - 35"
6 buttons
Finished Sizes: Small (50"), Medium (55"), Large (60")
at bottom of capelet.
Gauge: Pattern repeat at bottom of capelet 2.5 inches with size 11
Instructions
Cast on 112 (128, 144) sts with size 11 needles.
Knit 5 rows (end by working a wrong-side row).
Begin pattern:
Row 1: (buttonhole row) K3, yo, K2 tog, K3, *yo, K2 tog, K6*. Rep between * to
end.
Row 2: K8, *yo, K2 tog, K6.* Rep between * to end
Repeat row 2 until there are 7 ridges on the right side above the first
buttonhole (end by working a wrong side row).
Repeat row 1 (2nd buttonhole made), then repeat row 2 until there are 7
ridges on right side above second buttonhole.
Decrease row: K3, yo, K2 tog, K3 (3rd buttonhole made), *yo, K2 tog, K2,
K2 tog, K2.*
Rep between * to last 6 sts, K6.
Next row: K8, *yo, K2 tog, K5.* Rep between * to last 6 sts, K6. Repeat
last row until there are 7 ridges above third buttonhole on right side.
Next row: (4th buttonhole made): K3, yo, K2 tog, K3, *yo. K2 tog, K5*.
Rep between *to last 6 sts, K6.
Next row: K8, *yo, K2 tog, K5.* Rep between * to last 6 sts, K6, Repeat
this row until there are 7 ridges above 4th buttonhole.
Decrease row: K3, yo. K2 tog, K3, (5th buttonhole made), *yo, K2 tog, K1,
K2 tog, K2.* Repeat between * to last 6 sts, K6.
Next row: K8, *yo, K2 tog, K4.* Rep between * to last 6 sts, K6. Repeat
this row until
there are 7 ridges above 5th buttonhole.
Next row: (6th buttonhole made): K3, yo, K2 tog, K3, *yo, K2 tog, K4.*
Repeat between
* to last 6 sts, K6.
Next row: K8, *yo, K2 tog, K4.* Repeat between * to last 6 sts, K6.
Repeat this row until there are 2 ridges above 6th buttonhole.
Change to smaller needle. K4 rows. Bind off around top edge.
Finishing
Work 1 row reverse single crochet around neck, drawing and firming up neck sts.
Finish off.
Sew on buttons matching to buttonhole positions.
