for Legwarmers: 6 - 50 gr balls Nubbles #405
and 2 - 50 gr balls Party #205
for Hat: 3 - 50 gr balls Nubbles for hat ( or make a shorter hat with 2 balls)
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles in Single Point US #13,
8" Double-Point US #8 and 16" Circular US #11
Invisible elastic (used for lingerie)Abbreviations:
CO = cast on, m1 = make 1 stitch, rnd = round, dec = decrease, ssk = slip slip knit, BO = bind off
Leg Warmers:
With Nubbles, CO 50 sts on US #13. Working garter st, dec 3 sts evenly every 2.5 inches 6x until piece measures 15" (32 sts).
With Party and DPN’s and working in the rnd, dec one st each seam edge and AT THE SAME TIME, (k1, m1) to end of rnd (60 sts).
Continue in k2 x p1 rib for 3 rnds.
Eyelet rnd: *k1, ssk, yo, k2, p1, repeat from * to end of rnd.
Continue in k2 x p1 rib until cuff measures 2". BO in rib.
Sew Nubbles seam. Weave in ends. Sew 2-3 rows of invisible elastic into Party cuff. Thread 1 or 2 strands of Party in and out of the eyelet holes and tie.
Hat:
CO 42 st in Nubbles on #11 circular 16" needles. Knit until piece measures 8.5" or to desired height.
Either BO all stitches and sew seam together on the inside
- OR -
BO using 3-needle BO: Divide stitches evenly between 2 needles. Using a 3rd needle as working needle, knit 1st st from front needle and 1st st from back needle together. Do the same for the next st on each needle, then slip the first st on the working needle over the 2nd st. Repeat until all sts are bound off.
Note: For this BO, you can use your single-pointed #13 needles for the two needles and your 16" circular #11 for your 3rd working needle.
