CPY Bamboo Needles: size 12" SP 10.5 and 11 (Note: smaller needles are only used to knit the rolled neck) and large size Cable Needle.
Gauge: 2.4 sts = 1" (9.5 sts/ 10 cm (4 inches)

48)" finished measurements.

Stitches Used:
Stockinette
Four stitch cable - there are 3 cables set into the 16 sts in front center panel of sweater
Four Stitch Cable Crossed Every 8 Rows:
Rows 1 & 3 (WS): k1, p4, k1, p4, k1, p4, k1
Row 2: p1, (k4, p1) (repeat to end of row)
Row 4: p1, (slip next 2 sts to cable needle and hold in front of work; k2, then k2 from cable needle, p1) 3 times.
Rows 5 & 6: Work as Rows 1 and 3.
Rows 6 & 8: Work as Row 2.
Back
Work all on larger needles, cast on 44 (48, 54, 58) sts.
Work 1x1 rib for 1" (4 rows)
Work in Stockinette until piece measures 13 (14, 14.5, 15.5)"
Armhole Shaping
Bind off 3 (4,5,4) sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each side, every other row 2 (3, 4, 4) times.
Continue in pat st until piece meas 20.5 (22, 23, 24.5)" from the start.
Shape Shoulders
Bind off 2 (2, 2, 3) sts beg of next 2 rows.
Bind off 2 (2, 2, 3) sts beg of next 2 rows.
Bind off 3 (2, 2, 3)sts beg of next 2 rows.
Bind off 20 (22, 24, 24) back neck sts.
Front
After completing 1" of 1 x 1 rib, begin cable pattern on wrong side over center 16 sts.
Work first WS row as follows P14 (16, 19, 21) sts, work 16sts in cable pattern, P14 (16, 19, 21).
Continue working front in Stockinette St with cable pattern inset.
Work armhole shaping as for back and at the same time when piece meas 18.5 (20, 20.5, 21.5)"
Begin Neck Shaping
On next row, work 9 (8, 9, 13), attach another ball of yarn, bind off center 16 (18, 18, 16) sts, and work across row. Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge, every other row 2 (2, 3, 4) times.
Continue in pat st until piece meas 20.5 (22, 23, 24.5)" from the start.
Shape Shoulders
Work shoulder shaping (at shoulder edge) to correspond with back.
Work sleeves.
Sleeves
Work entirely with larger needles, cast on 22 sts. Work 1x1 rib for 4 rows [1"].
Sleeve Increases
Work in St st. Inc 1 st on each side every 11 (10, 10, 10) rows, 4 (6, 2, 7) times, then every 12 (0, 11, 0) rows, 1 (0, 4, 0) times. Continue in St st until piece meas 16" (17, 18 , 19)"
Cap Shaping
Bind off 3 (4, 5, 4) sts each side. Dec 1 st each side, every 2 (2, 3, 2) rows, 4 (2, 1, 1) times, then every 3 (3, 4, 3) rows, 3 (5, 5, 7) times.
Bind off remaining 12 sts.
Finishing
Seam shoulders. Sew in sleeves. Seam sleeves. Seam sides.
Rolled Neck Finishing
With smaller size 16" circular needle or dpn set and RS facing, pick up 7 (6, 7, 11) sts from right neck edge, 16 (18, 18, 16) front neck sts, 7 (6, 7, 11) sts from left neck edge, 20 (22, 24, 24) back neck sts, place marker, join. [50 (54, 60, 62) sts]
Work in the round in St st until desired length, at least 3-4". Bind off loosely.
