Materials:
Crystal Palace Musique (50 gr
balls) 10 (11, 12) balls (shown in color #3220)
CPY Bamboo Needles or
DAISY Needles:
size 11 single-pointed and 16 10.5 circular
Note: smaller needles are only used to knit the rolled
neck
Large size Cable Needle.
Gauge: 3 sts = 1" in St st and 4 st=1 in Pattern Cable Stitch
Finished Measurements: 36 (40, 44)
Pattern Cable Stitch
Worked over 48 sts (12 Row Repeat):
Rows 1,3,5 (WS): (k2, p8, k2, p6) 2 times, k2, p8, k2.
Row 2,4: (p2, k8, p2, k6) 2 times, p2, k8, p2.
Row 6: (p2, slip next 4 sts to cable needle and hold in front of work,
k4, then k4 from cable needle, p2, k6) 2 times, p2, slip next 4 sts to cable
needle and hold in front of work, k4, then k4 from cable needle, p2.
Rows 7,9,11: Work as Row 1.
Rows 8,10,12: Work as Row 2.
Back:
CO 62 (68, 74) sts. Work in St st until piece measures 14 (15, 15.5) from
bottom edge.
Armhole shaping:
BO 2 (3,5) st at beg of next 2 rows, 58 (62, 64) sts. Continue in St st until
piece measures 22 (23.5, 24) from bottom edge. BO rem stitches.
Front:
After completing 1.5" of St st, begin cable pattern on wrong side over center 48
sts.
Work first WS row as follows P7 (10, 13) sts, work 48 sts in cable pattern, P7
(10, 13).
Shape armholes as for back at 14 (15, 15.5) from bottom edge.
Continue working front in St st with cable pattern inset, and at the same time,
when piece measures 20 (21.5, 21.5),
Begin Neck Shaping:
Work to center 21 (23, 23) sts, attach another ball of yarn, BO center 21 ( 23,
23) sts, complete row. Work both sides at once. Dec. 1 st at each neck edge
every other row 2 (2, 3) times. Continue until piece measures 22 (23.5, 24). BO
rem shoulder sts.
Sleeves:
CO 26 (26, 26) sts. Work 1 in St st. Inc 1 st on each side every 4th row 3 (7,
5) times, then every 6th row 8 (6, 8) times. Continue even in St st until piece
measures 16.5 (18,19.5) or desired length from beg of cuff. BO 48 (52, 52) sts.
Neck Finishing:
With smaller size circular needle (or dpns), pick up 59 (63, 69) sts around
neck edge. Join and work in St st for 3. BO loosely.
Finishing:
Sew side, shoulder and sleeve seams. Weave in ends.
