Labrador Seed Stitch Scarf

90 yds/100 gram ball - 100% Australian soft wool
Scarf is knit in a seed stitch.

Cast on 20 stitches using a 10.75 or 11 USA size needle
and knit first row using K1, P1. To knit in Seed Stitch continue to reverse each row, knitting the purl sts and purling the knit stitches.

Using a seed stitch for a thick-thin yarn such as Labrador makes a very interesting surface texture.

I used two full balls and had a nice large scarf. See the finished scarf with a hat knit with one ball of Labrador at the lower left below. You'll see another photo of this scarf and hat in KNITS magazine from Interweave Press this fall.

See the Labrador color card here - it comes in 25 solid colors and and 16 printed colors.

(I knit very loosely so most knitters would get
this gauge on a size 10.75 or 11 needle when I use a 10.5)

Here is the finished scarf and hat being checked out by our dog, Kaya. The color is more accurate in the photos above, but I couldn't resist putting this photo up.
