Knit Stole in Glam ribbon yarn with Shimmer Fringe

Materials:
4 balls Crystal Palace Glam color 9357, Lilac Potpourri.
1 ball Crystal Palace Shimmer color 2848 Periwinkle added to fringe.
Crystal Palace Bamboo needles, 9" single point, size 10 1/2.
Tapestry needle. Crochet hook to add fringe.Pattern Stitch:
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: Knit.
Repeat these three rows.Gauge: 3 -1/2 stitches/inch in pattern stitch
Cut Fringe: Before beginning knitting, cut strands of Glam to be used in fringe as follows:
Cut 28 pieces of Glam, 28" long each. Tie a simple half-knot at each end of each strand and set strands aside. You may also cut strands of Shimmer for fringe as follows: Cut 72 strands of Shimmer, 28" long each. Tie a simple half-knot at each end of each strand and set strands aside.Knitting Instructions:
Using Glam, cast on 40 stitches. Work in pattern stitch until all of the Glam is used, binding off loosely at the end. Weave in ends using tapestry needle. Make fringe by folding cut strands of yarn in half and applying to edge of stole with crochet hook, using half of each type of yarn for each end of stole. The strands of Glam were applied singly, and two strands of Shimmer were held together when applied. For the stole shown in the picture, the strands were not folded precisely in half, but folded slightly unevenly to give an irregular finished length to the fringe. The strands of Glam and Shimmer were applied in a random order.
