Materials:

Choo-Choo - 3 colors: 4 (4, 4,
5)-50 gr balls of 2746-toasted
marshmallow , 2 (3,3,3)-50 gr balls of 2744-creme caramel , 2(3,3,3)-50 gr balls
of 2806-fern frond
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles:
size 10.5
Gauge: 15.5 sts = 4" in St st (3.9 sts = 1")
Finished Chest Circumference: 33 (36, 40, 44)

Pattern Stitches
(note that Rev St st is the Right Side – RS of garment)
Seed St
Row 1: k1, p1 to end
Row 2: p the k, k the p sts
Repeat these two rows
Wrap Stitch Pattern (8 rows)
Row 1 (RS-Wrap St Row): k1, *yo, k1; rep between *, end k1)
Row 2 (WS): Knit, dropping all the yo sts off left needle
Rows 3, 5, 7: Purl
Rows 4, 6, 8: Knit
Color Changes: Complete 8 rows of Pat St with Color A, then Color B,
then MC. Repeat throughout sweater.
Back
With MC and larger needles, cast on 64 (70, 78, 86) sts.
Work in Seed St for 1.5 (1.5, 1.5, 2)”
Work 6 rows of Rev St st (purl side RS), beginning with a p row.
Being work in Warp pat st with Color A..
Continue to work in pat st and cycle through all 3 colors until piece meas
12.5 (13, 14, 15.5)". Place underarm markers.
Continue in pat st until piece meas approx. 21.5 (22, 23.5, 25,5)”
End with row 8 of pat st completed. Bind off 64 (70, 78, 86) sts across back as
if to purl.
Front
Work as for back, including all shaping, and, at the same time, when piece meas
19.25 (20, 21.5, 22.75)” with row 8 of pat st completed
Begin Neck Shaping
Cont in pat st, work 13 (15, 18, 20) sts, place center 30 (32, 34, 34) sts on
holder, attach another ball of yarn. Complete row over rem 13 (15, 18, 20) sts.
Working both sides at once, work WS even. Dec 1 st at each neck edge, every
other row 4 (4, 4, 6)x on RS rows.
Continue in pat st until piece measures same as back. Bind off 13 (15, 18, 20)
sts across each shoulder as if to purl.
Sleeves
With larger needles, cast on 34 (34, 36, 36) sts. Work Seed St for 1”. Work in
pat st as for front and back. Beginning with a purl row, work 6 rows in rev st
st. Begin increases.
Sleeve Increases
Inc 1 st on each end on every RS row EXCEPT the wrap st pat rows.
Continue in pat st until you have 68 (70, 74, 78) sts. Continue one more repeat
of pat st without increasing. Sleeve should measure approx. 12.5 (13, 14, 15)”
from beg. Bind off as if to purl.
Finishing
Seam shoulders. Center sleeves and sew sleeves to shoulders. Sew seam for
sleeves and sides.
Rolled Neck Finishing
With MC and smaller size 16" circular needle or dpn set and RS facing, pick up
11 (11, 11, 15) sts from right neck edge, 30 (32, 34, 34) front neck sts, 11
(11, 11, 15) sts from left neck edge, 38 (40, 42, 46) back neck sts, place
marker, join.
[90 (94, 98, 110) sts]
Work in the round, knitting every round until neckband measures at least 3-4".
Bind off loosely.
