Begin Ruffle:
Note: When working TuTu and Cotton Twirl together, hold TuTu across front of work, keeping the cut end on right-hand side. Fold end of
TuTu so 1st and 2nd rectanglular openings overlap (with cut end in back). Insert left needle
into overlapped openings knitwise, then through the Cotton Twirl st on the needle.
Finish knitting the two yarns together with Cotton Twirl. *Insert left
needle into next TuTu opening knitwise, then through the next Cotton Twirl st on
the needle. Finish knitting the two yarns together with Cotton Twirl. Repeat
from * to end of rnd.
With TuTu held in front of Cotton Twirl, K 1 rnd of TuTu
and Cotton Twirl together.
P 1 rnd with Cotton Twirl only.
Repeat these 2 rnds, 2 (2, 3, 3) times more. BO loosely. Weave in ends.
Drawstring:
Cut a 3 (31/2, 4, 41/2)-yd length of Cotton Twirl. Fold in half and twist one end.
(You may need someone to hold the other end while you twist, or
alternatively, fasten one end to a cushion with a pin to hold it steady.)
When it is tightly twisted, fold in half and let the cord twist on
itself. Smooth out and tie each end
to secure the twist. Thread
drawstring through eyelet holes, starting at skirt front, opposite beg of rnd.
For sizes 4 & 8, make sure drawstring
ends come out of eyelets with shorter gaps between them.
