Sizes:
12 month (18 month, 1 yr, 2 yr, 3 yr)
Materials:
Two Color Version: 2 (3, 3, 4) - 50 gr balls Crystal Palace
Merino 5 (MC)
1 - 50 gr balls
Merino 5 (CC)
Solid Color version: 3 (3, 4, 4) 50 gr balls

Crystal Palace
Bamboo or DAISY Needles:
US 8 size (5 mm)
3 buttons 1/2 diameter
Gauge: 4 1/2 sts = 1 inches, Stockinette st, using
size 8 (5 mm) needles.
For correct sizing be sure to work gauge swatch.
Abbreviations:
BO-bind off; beg-begin (ning), CO-cast on; Dec-decrease;
inc-increase; k-knit; K2tog-knit 2 stitches together; PU-pick up; p-purl;
rep-repeat; RS-right side; St(s)-stitch (es); WS-wrong side
Back:
Note: To make without contrast
color, follow same directions and substitute MC for CC.
Using CC CO 50 (54, 54, 58) sts. Work 2 rows K2, P2 rib. Change to MC and work 6
rows K2, P2 rib. Inc 2 (0, 2, 2) sts evenly on last row. 52 (54, 56, 60) sts.
Work even in Stockinette until piece measures 7 (7 1/2, 9, 9 1/2) from CO.
Shape Armholes:
BO 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows. Dec 1 st at each end every other row 2 (2, 1, 2)
times40 (42, 46, 48) sts. Work even until armhole measures 4 (4 1/2, 5, 5
1/4).
Shape Neck and Shoulders:
Work across 12 (12, 14, 14) sts for right shoulder, BO 16 (18, 18, 20) sts for
neck, work across rem sts for left shoulder. BO 2 sts at each neck edge 1 time.
Work 10 (10, 12, 12) sts for right shoulder until armhole measures 5 (5 1/2, 6,
6 1/4). BO sts. Work 10 (10, 12, 12) sts on left shoulder for button band as
follows:
Row 1, 3, and 5: K2 (2, 3, 3), P2, K2, P2, K2 (2, 3, 3).
Rows 2, 4, and 6: P2 (2, 3, 3) K2, P2, K2, P2 (2, 3, 3).
Rows 3 and 5: K2 (2, 3, 3) P2, K2tog, YO, P2, K2 (2, 3, 3).
BO all sts in pattern.
Front:
Work same as for front until armhole measures 3 (3 1/2, 3 3/4,
4) from CO40 (42, 46, 48) sts.
Shape Neck and Shoulders:
Work across 16 (16, 18, 18) sts for shoulder, BO 8 (10, 10, 12) sts for neck,
work across rem sts. BO 2 sts at each neck edge 2 times & 1 st at each neck edge
2 times. Work 10 (10, 12, 12) sts for left shoulder until armhole measures 4 (4
1/2, 5, 5 1/4). Work 10 (10, 12, 12) sts on right shoulder for buttonhole
band as follows:
Row 1: K2 (2, 3, 3), P2, K2, P2, K2 (2, 3, 3).
Rows 2, 4 and 6: P2 (2, 3, 3) K2, P2, K2, P2 (2, 3, 3).
Rows 3 and 5: K2 (2, 3, 3) P2, K2tog, YO, P2, K2 (2, 3, 3).
BO sts in pattern.
Working on 10 (10, 12, 12) sts for right shoulder until armhole measures 5 (5
1/2, 6, 6 1/4). BO.
Finishing:
Sew right shoulder seam. Work armbands & neckband. Sew side
seams. Sew buttons to button band.
Left band Armband:
RS facing, using MC, beg at top of button band, PU 62 (62, 66, 66) sts. Work 4
rows MC & 2 row CC as follows:
Row 1, and 5 (WS): *P2, K2. rep from * to end.
Rows 2, 4 and 6: *K2, P2; rep from * to end.
Row 3: *P2, K2; rep from * to last 4 sts, P2tog, YO, K2.
BO in pattern.
Right Armband:
RS facing, using MC, beg at armhole shaping, PU 62 (62, 66, 66) sts. Work 4 rows
MC & 2 row CC as follows:
Row 1, 3 and 5 (WS): *P2, K2. rep from * to end.
Row 2, 4 and 6: *K2, P2; rep from * to end.
BO in pattern.
Neckband:
RS facing, using MC, beg at left front shoulder button band PU 66
(66, 70, 70) sts around neck to left back shoulder band. Work 4 row MC & 2 row
CC rows as follows:
Row 1 and 5: *P2, K2 rep from * to end.
Row 2, 4 and 6: *K2, P2; rep from * to end.
Row 3: *P2, K2; rep from * to last 4 sts, P2tog, YO, K2.
BO all sts in pattern.
