Gauge:
18.5 sts=4" in Pattern Stitch and larger needles
Materials:
Needles:
Crystal Palace
Bamboo or DAISY Needles
Size 11 (8 mm) US straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Size 10½ US (6.5 mm) 35” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Meringue:
(merino wool blend - 50 gram balls)
1 ball #4891 Strawberry Cream (Color A)
2 balls #9508 Faded Lilacs (Color B)
1 ball #9576 Rose Petals (Color C)
1 ball #9628 Periwinkle (Color D)
Pattern Stitch
Note: Slip all sts as if to p
Row 1 (RS): k2, *sl 1 with yarn in front, k1; rep from *, end k1
Row 2: p3, *sl 1 with yarn in back, p1; rep from *, end p2
Moss Stitch
Rows 1 and 2: *k1, p1; rep from *
Rows 3 and 4: *p1, k1; rep from *
Instructions:
With larger needles and Color A, CO 93 sts. P 1 row.
Change to Color B and begin Pattern Stitch. Rep these two rows of Pattern Stitch
with Color C, then color D cutting yarn when changing to new color. Cont as
estab, alternating Colors A, B, C, and D. Cont until you are almost out of yarn,
ending with Color D completed.
BO with D, knitting each st as you BO.
Edging
With Color B and circular needles, with RS facing, pick up 92 sts
along CO edge. Work in Moss Stitch 4 rows. BO in pat. Repeat on BO edge.
Along side edge (including edging just worked), pick up 144 sts. Work in Moss
Stitch 4 rows. BO in pat. Repeat on other side.
Finishing
Weave in ends on WS.
Block.
