Cotton Twirl Squares Baby Blanket
Designed & Knit by Susan Druding

This is an easy to knit, soft and cozy baby blanket. Simple 12 stitch wide blocks of stockinette & reverse St st are surrounded by a garter stitch border. The 10% elastic nylon content helps Cotton Twirl hold it's shape.

Materials
Yarn: Crystal Palace Yarns Cotton Twirl (90% Cotton, 10% Elastic Nylon, 92 yards - 50 gram ball): 9 balls of any color.
Cotton Twirl #2235 Beach Scene is shown here.
Needle:
Crystal Palace Bamboo 26" Circular Needle Size US 9/5.5mm.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get the correct gauge.

Finished Measurements
About 32" x 32"

CO 130 sts
Work 6 rows (3 ridges) in garter st (P every row)
First Set of Blocks:
Row 1: K5, *K12, P12* rep between * to last 5 sts, K5
Row 2: K5, *P12, K12* rep between * to last 5 sts, K5
Repeat these two rows until a total of 18 rows are completed.
Second Set of Blocks:
Row 1: K5, *P12, K12* rep between * to last 5 sts, K5
Row 2: K5, *K12, P12* rep between * to last 5 sts, K5

Continue alternating Sets of Blocks until a total of 10 sets are complete.

End by working 6 rows (3 ridges) of garter st to match beginning border.
Bind off loosely.

Note: When adding a new ball of yarn, I like to overlap yarn ends for at least 6-7 sts, holding the yarn double. A long overlap will give a firmer join.
