MATERIALS:  
Ashford Tekapo 100% wool, 100gm (218 yds.),  4 (5) skeins. 
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles - size 11 and 13 single point and size 11-16" circulars, crochet hook E, two stitch holders.
GAUGE: 3 sts and 4 rows=1" in Stockinette stitch (St st) with size 13 needles and two strands of yarn.

Abbreviations:
inc: increase
dec: decrease
BO: bind off
CO: cast on

Note: Yarn is held double throughout.

BACK: With size 11 needles and two strands of yarn, CO 54 (58) sts. Work 3 rows in K2, P2 rib. Change to size 13 needles. Work in St st until 15 (16)" from bottom edge. Armhole: BO 3 sts each side. Dec 1 st each side every other row, 3 times. (42 (46) sts). When armhole measures 7.75 (8.25)" bind off 5 (6) sts each shoulder edge once, and 6 sts each shoulder edge once. Place remaining (rem) 20 (22) sts onto a holder for back neck.

FRONT: Work same as back until 6.5" from armhole edge. Work across 16 (18) sts, place center 10 sts on holder for front neck, work across rem 16 (18) sts. Attach a second ball of yarn and work both sides at the same time. BO
2 sts each side of neck edge once, Dec 1 st each side of neck edge, every other row, 3 times. When armhole edge measures 7.75 (8.25)" bind off 5 (6) sts each shoulder edge, once, and 6 sts each shoulder edge once. Sew shoulders together.

TURTLENECK: With 11 needles pick up 20 (22) sts from back neck holder, 2 sts along left shoulder seam, 9 (10) sts along left front neck, 10 sts from front neck holder, 9 (10) sts along left front neck, 2 sts from right shoulder seam. (52 (56) sts). Work 2.5" in K2, P2 rib. BO all sts.

FINISHING: Sew side seams. Work one row in slip st crochet around armholes.
