17 sts/4 inches in V lace st on larger needles.
Be sure to work a swatch to learn pattern & to test gauge.

Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles:
SP size 7 & 9, & circular size 7, or size to obtain correct gauge.
2 markers
1 stitch holder
Pattern:
Victoria Stitch, multiple of 13 stitches and 10 rows.
Row 1: (RS) *p4, k5, p4
*
Row 2, 4, 6, & 8: (WS) purl the purl stitches and knit the knit stitches
as they face you.
Row 3: *p3, k2tog, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, sl1, k1, psso, p3 *
Row 5: * p2, k2tog, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, sl1, k1, psso, p2*
Row 7: * p1, k2tog, k1, yo, k5, yo, k1, sl1, k1, psso, p1
Row 9: *k2tog, k1, yo, k7, yo, k1, sl1, k1, psso*
Row 10: purl
Back:
With smaller needles, cast on 78(91) sts and work in k1, p1 rib for 2 inches (11
rows), end with a WS row. Change to larger needles, work even in Victoria St for
7 pattern repeats (approx. 14" from beg). Mark each end of last row for
armholes. Work even for 5 (6) more pattern repeats (about 25 [26]" from beg).
End back with Row 10, do not bind off. Slip all stitches to holder.
Front:
Work as for back through placing of armhole
markers.
Shape Neck: Continue in pattern.
For S/M size:
work across 35 sts, k2 tog, k1. K2 tog and place this last dec st on st holder.
Join 2nd ball of yarn, k1, sl1, k1, psso and cont across row.
For Large size work across 42 sts, k2 tog,
k1. Plaace next st on st holder, join 2nd ball of yarn, k1, sl1, k1,psso and
cont across row. For both sizes cont in
pattern, work each side sep but at same time, dec 1 st at each neck edge every
other row 15(20) times, 20(22) sts. Work even until there are the same number of
pattern repeats in the front as in the back, 12 (13) repeats. End with row 9,
do not bind off.
Note:
Always work decrease
stitches on neckline edge, k on right side, purl those two stitches on wrong
side.
Finishing:
Do a '3 needle bind off' on each shoulder. Keep neckline sts on holder to
be picked up later for neckline.
For armhole ribbing, work 5 rows ribbing, next row bind off loosely.
For neckline,
using circular needle,
pick up the 39 (47) sts of neck back, from
holder, attach yarn, pick up and knit 37 (45) sts along left front, place
marker, pick up and knit 1 st from holder, place marker, pick up and knit 37
(45) on right side of neckline. Join and work 5 rnds ribbing, working a dec
before & after markers for mitered center, bind off in ribbing on next round
working dec for mitered center on bind off row also.
