Description: This unique, eye-catching scarf pattern is deceptively easy to make. It features alternating bands of Mochi Plus and Plus Solid, with horizonal elogated stitches of Mochi Plus slipped across the Plus Solid bands.

Size: 6½" x 51"
Materials:
Gauge: 4½ sts = 1" over St st
Abbreviations: BO- bind off; CC- contrasting color; CO-cast on; k- knit; MC- main color; p- purl; St(s)- stitches; St st- Stockinette stitch; x- times
INSTRUCTIONS [small edits 2/23/12]
Note: Do not break yarn when changing colors. Before starting each RS
row, carry the color not in use up the edge by wrapping it once around the color
that is in use. This will produce a tidy right-hand edge.
CO 31 sts. With CC, work 6 rows in garter st. Begin mock plaid pattern:
Row 1 (RS): With MC, k.
Row 2: With MC, K4, p23, k4.
Rows 3 & 4: Repeat Rows 1 & 2.
Row 5: With CC, K9, sl 1, (k5, sl 1) 2x, k9.
Row 6: With CC, K4, (p5, sl 1) 3x, p5, k4.
Row 7 & 8: Repeat Rows 5 & 6.
Repeat these 8 rows until piece measures ~ 50", ending with a Row 4. Change to CC and work 6 rows in garter st. BO. Weave in ends. Block to measurements.
