Description: This hat uses the ribbony effect of TuTu worked with Cotton Twirl to create a fun, frilly edge. The rest of this baby hat is worked in Cotton Twirl with simple eyelet design and crown decrease.
[TuTu is a new yarn for Fall 2011 and will arrive in August.]

Materials:
Yarn:
1 - 50g ball of Crystal Palace Cotton Twirl (shown in 2911 "Misty
Rose") and
1- 50g ball of Crystal Palace TuTu (shown in 101 "Delicate")
Needles: Crystal Palace Bamboo 8" Double-pointed Needles in US
size 7 (or size needed for gauge)
Yarn Needle
Gauge: 4.25 sts = 1"
Abbreviations: CO- cast on; k- knit; p- purl; p2sso- pass the 2 slipped stitches over the stitch just knit; rnd- round; sl2tog k-wise- slip 2 stitches as if to knit them together; st(s)- stitch(es); yo- yarn over
Instructions:
With Cotton Twirl, CO 60 sts. Join and begin working in the rnd.
Rnd 1: K.
Rnd 2: P.
Rnd 3: With
TuTu held in front, k with Cotton Twirl and TuTu held together.
Rnd 4: K.
Rnd 5: Work as
for Rnd 3.
Rnd 6: K.
Rnd 7: Work as for Rnd 3.
Begin Crown:
Rnd 1: K.
Rnd 2: *K6, yo,
sl2tog k-wise, k1, p2sso, yo, k6; rep from * to end of rnd.
Repeat these 2 rnds until piece measures 4.5" from beginning
of cast-on edge of Cotton Twirl, ending with a Rnd 2.
Begin Decrease:
Rnd 1: K.
Rnd 2: *K6,
sl2tog k-wise, k1, p2sso, k6; rep from * to end of rnd. [52 sts]
Rnd 3: K.
Rnd 4: *K5,
sl2tog k-wise, k1, p2sso, k5; rep from * to end of rnd. [44 sts]
Rnd 5: K.
Rnd 6: *K4,
sl2tog k-wise, k1, p2sso, k4; rep from * to end of rnd. [36 sts]
Rnd 7: *K3,
sl2tog k-wise, k1, p2sso, k3; rep from * to end of rnd. [28 sts]
Rnd 8: *K2,
sl2tog k-wise, k1, p2sso, k2; rep from * to end of rnd. [20 sts]
Rnd 9: *K1,
sl2tog k-wise, k1, p2sso, k1; rep from * to end of rnd. [12 sts]

Cut yarn, thread yarn needle and draw yarn through
